Ribbon foil is NOT corrugated as shown in the picture! Since you need to cut the ribbon to your own desired size, you must do this yourself. Instructions are provided.

I recently put one in a RSM-4 ribbon mic and output was boosted quite a bit! The stock 6 micron mic needs about 88% gain on an inexpensive AudioBuddy preamp. With this 4 micron ribbon, gain only needs to be at about 55%! As for freq response, the highs remain about the same although cleaner sounding, while the low-end get's a nice boost!
